Your domain is yours, and you can move it to another registrar whenever you want. The key is the transfer code (also called the EPP code or auth code) — a password that proves you may move the domain.
Moving a domain away from Metoda
- Sign in and open the domain from My domains.
- In the Transfer section, click Get transfer code. The code appears on the spot, and the domain is unlocked so the new registrar can take it. We also email you that the code was shown.
- Start the transfer at the new registrar and enter the code there. Follow any confirmation emails they send.
For most generic extensions the transfer usually completes within five days. The new registrar normally adds one year to the expiry date as part of the transfer, so you do not lose the time you already paid for.
The 60-day rule
Under the transfer rules for generic domains, a domain usually cannot move to another registrar within 60 days of its registration or of a previous transfer. If you just registered a domain, wait until that period has passed.
.rs domains
For .rs domains the code comes from the registry: request it in your account, and the .rs registry emails it to the domain’s administrative contact, usually within one business day. The code is valid for 20 days.
Keep the lock on when you are not moving
While you are not transferring, keep the transfer lock on (you can switch it in the same section). With the lock on, nobody can move the domain, even with the code. If you ever get an email about a transfer code you did not ask for, sign in and turn the lock back on.
Transfers to Metoda
Moving a domain from another registrar to Metoda is not offered yet. You can register new domains with us at one yearly price — see the price list.
