Questions about .com
How much does a .com domain cost?
$12.99 a year, in US dollars. You can register it for 1 to 10 years and see the total before you pay; no taxes or fees are added at checkout.
Does the renewal cost more?
No. With us a .com domain renews for the same $12.99 a year as the registration. Turn on auto-renew to have it renewed automatically, or we email you before the expiry date and you renew from your account.
Who can register a .com domain?
Anyone. The domain is registered in your name, with your contact details.
What happens if I forget to renew?
The domain stops working and the registrar deletes it. For a period, usually about 30 days, only you can get it back, for $88.99 plus one year of renewal; after that anyone can register it.
Can I move my .com domain to another registrar?
Yes. Open the domain in your account and click Get transfer code — you get the code (EPP / auth code) on the spot.
Is a .com domain good for SEO?
Google treats .com like any other generic extension — no extension gets a ranking boost or penalty. Rankings depend on your content and the links to it, so choose the extension your visitors will remember.
Who registers it?
Metoda LLC is a reseller. .com domains are registered through Realtime Register B.V. (ICANN-accredited, IANA ID 839), in your name.
